Adding Spark to your Winter Wedding

As we descend into the colder months you may be asking how you can add a little spark to your wedding day. Perhaps you want to have stand out wedding pictures or give your guests an unforgettable experience by throwing a some light into these darker evenings… The choices are endless whether it's a picture perfect sparkler send off or a full blown firework display, there’s many great ways to add some spark to your winter wedding so we’re giving you some tips and advice on how you can wow your guests with a sparkling winter wedding...

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Before you dive in with a full on fireworks display, consider the setting of your wedding. If you have beautiful grounds, free from livestock, then you have an ideal spot for a personal fireworks display. You and your wedding party can watch the Catherine Wheels and Roman Candles erupt across the night sky making a spectacular feature within your winter wedding. We work with some amazing pyro pros across the country to create standout displays, that can be completely tailored to you. We recommend a display set to music - it can be a song that’s special to you, or if you don’t have a set song, pick one that really builds, you can create a truly amazing display that compliments the crescendo of the tune! A firework display is a sure fire way of making your big day memorable for both you and your guests, but always check if your venue allows it, or if you’re in the countryside, be sure to have a conversation with local farmers or neighbours that have pets of livestock to forewarn them.

SPARKLER SEND OFF

If you think a firework display may be adding too much bang to your big day, then we always love a sparkler send off. As the two of you leave your big day, having your gorgeous guests send you away with a sparkler arch can make you feel like the star of the show but also makes for some gorgeous wedding pictures. More recently we actually incorporated a sparkler send off into the end of the ceremony - for a winter wedding this is a gorgeous alternative to a confetti shot. We had a later ceremony, so the evening was just beginning to draw in as we ended the service. Guests had a few drinks and then created that iconic sparkler tunnel.

ADDING A SPARK INSIDE

Of course there is also the sparkling touch of lighting to consider. Fairy lights, festoons and candles (LED or real) can add that extra spark! It creates such a romantic look, especially on those darker evenings at an Autumn or Winter wedding. They can dress up a stately home, a marquee or a barn, wherever you are, that wamring glow can feel truly magical.

You can take it even further, creating a real statement moment with some indoor fireworks. Our awesome friends at Dreamwave have helped us create some indoor firework magic over the years. Fountains of sparkling light (that is completely safe and not actual fire!) has surrounded our couples as they take to the dancefloor for their first dance, or even made a grand entrance. So you don’t have to brave the cold to feel the spark, bring it indoors!
